AtoB@C Shipping’s operations are now covered by the ISO 14001 certification. The company was recently audited as a part of the parent company ESL Shipping’s annual ISO 14001 audit.
The Environmental Management System Manual covering the operations of ESL Shipping and AtoB@C Shipping was completely renewed at the beginning of the year in order to bring it up to date with the company’s ambitious environmental targets and to reflect the business model where only part of the vessels are managed by the company and the rest are time chartered.
“We have worked for a while to update our Environmental Management System Manual to cover the current business model and to respond to the new challenges we face”, comments Operations & Environmental Director Kirsi Ylärinne.
ISO 14001 is a voluntary standard that sets out criteria for implementing an effective environmental management system. It guides businesses in systematising and improving their environmental management efforts and promotes methods to protect the environment and contribute to a sustainable future.
