Sustainability Report 2020 published

Written by AtoB@C Shipping AB | 13.04.21

Our Sustainability Report 2020 has been published. The past year was nothing any of us expected in the beginning of the year. The pandemic has had a significant effect on the whole company but especially on our employees both at sea and on land. Consequently, the safety and well-being of our employees has been a main concern to us the whole year.

“I am extremely proud of our dedicated staff onboard and ashore, who in the middle of the pandemic have kept our customers' goods moving”, says Chairman of the Board Mikki Koskinen.

Despite the pandemic, we were able to maintain our normal service capability and secure uninterrupted delivery chains for our customers in the exceptional operating conditions, in which crew changes, maintenance or spare parts deliveries could not be carried out normally due to the lack of flight connections and the issuance of travel restrictions.

The highlight of the year from an environmental point of view was in June, when M/S Viikki became the first vessel in Finland to be fueled with liquid biogas, which enables nearly emission-free transportation to customers.

ESL Shipping together with its fully owned subsidiary AtoB@C Shipping is the leading carrier of dry bulk cargoes in the Baltic Sea with a fleet of 52 vessels ranging from 3,000 to 56,000 deadweight tons. In 2020, group’s net sales were 148.4 MEUR and operating profit 7.6 MEUR. ESL Shipping is part of the Aspo Group.
